IU leans on late Kang Myung-joo “Final farewell through behind-the-scenes photos”

On March 24, IU posted several photos on her account with the caption “Volume 3 behind-the-scenes”. The photos show IU, who plays Oh Ae-sun and Yang Geum-myeong in Netflix’s series “When Life Gives You Tangerines“, smiling alongside Park Bo-gum, who plays her husband Yang Gwan-sik, and the child actors who portray their children.

She also showed affection by forming a heart over her head with Lee Jun-young, who plays Geum-myeong’s boyfriend Park Yeong-bum. One emotional photo captured her leaning gently on the shoulder of the late Kang Myung-joo, who passed away last month after battling cancer—an image that served as a heartfelt tribute.

Another photo featured IU standing between Choi Dae-hoon, who played Bu Sang-gil, and Park Hae-joon, who portrayed the older Gwan-sik. IU was seen playfully glaring at Choi Dae-hoon, her character’s nemesis in the drama, making fans laugh.
“When Life Gives You Tangerines” is a four-volume series that tells the life journey of the spirited Ae-sun and the steadfast Gwan-sik across the four seasons.

Volume 1 premiered on Netflix starting March 7, and the final Volume 4 is set to be released on March 28.

The drama also entered the Top 10 list in 41 countries, including Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Turkey, the Philippines and Vietnam, gaining worldwide popularity for its warmth and calm charm.
